Ottawa 200

Come celebrate Ottawa’s 200th Anniversary Celebration 2026 and the Right to Food!

This year, we are THRILLED to be celebrating our 5th Annual Right to Food Day Block Party along with Ottawa’s bicentennial anniversary!

Join us for a free afternoon of food, culture, music, storytelling, and community as we celebrate Ottawa’s diverse food traditions and the Right To Good Food for all.

When: Saturday, October 3rd.

What Time: 11:00am – 2:00pm

Where: At the Parkdale Park – 366 Parkdale Avenue

Ottawa has always been about food. Bytown was founded 200 years ago as a place for the laborers working on the Rideau Canal to access food. The very next year the Byward Market was established and deepened the relationship between Ottawa and food.

Let’s celebrate this shared history together, because Food Is A Human Right!
